“Child of Krakatoa" eruption triggers tsunami, killing at least 222

A Saturday tsunami caused by the eruption of the Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia has killed 222 people and injured more than 800 people, the AP reports.

Details: This is the latest disaster Indonesia has experienced this year, after a September earthquake triggered a tsunami that killed more than 800. Anak Krakatau, which was formed by the historic eruption of Krakatoa in 1883, is located between the Java and Sumatra islands. It erupted about 24 minutes before the tsunami, Indonesia’s Meteorology and Geophysics agency said.
