Kraft Heinz makes executive changes

PITTSBURGH _ Food giant Kraft Heinz is moving some chairs in its management offices.

Paulo Basilio, the company's chief financial officer, has been named zone president of the U.S. business, while David Knopf, a vice president who runs the Planters business, will take over as chief financial officer.

Meanwhile, George Zoghbi, chief operating officer of the U.S. business, will become a strategic adviser to the board, CEO Bernardo Hees and Basilio, the company announced Friday.

Kraft Heinz, dually headquartered in Pittsburgh and Chicago, is among the world's largest food companies with brands such as Maxwell House, Ore-Ida, Oscar Mayer, Plasmon and Smart Ones.

Earlier this year, the company made an unsuccessful bid to acquire Unilever, the British-Dutch maker of Hellmann's mayonnaise and Knorr soup. Market observers have been waiting to see if Kraft Heinz finds another sizable acquisition target to its liking.
