KPOP Demon Hunters fans can look forward to a new documentary starring EJAE. The singer who brought Rumi’s singing voice to all of us just released a mini-doc for In Another World.
After the runaway success of the Netflix juggernaut, EJAE’s been preparing some original music for us! It’s only been a little bit since she released In Another World and it’s already notched more than 7 million streams across platforms. The success of the track is also evident by those music video view numbers. (2 million right now!)
EJAE is so thankful for all the fan support after KPOP Demon Hunters released. The Netflix fave is still doing work on the Billboard music charts. Here’s what she had to say about the mini-documentary dropping today. “Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far,” she began. “My journey is still being written, and I am so grateful to everyone for all the support and love! This video is truly FOR THE FANS!!”
In a lot of ways, KPOP Demon Hunters and that killer soundtrack is the pop culture story of the year. EJAE deserves massive credit for helping mold the movie, along with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. She penned some of the movie’s biggest bops, and as a result the fans absolutely love her.
EJAE’s original song gets a documentary
We all love EJAE. But, KPOP Demon Hunters’ pop stars are a trio. Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna have supported their friend throughout this entire journey. All three of them have seen their stars skyrocket as a result of the movie’s success. This week, our friend Laura Sirikul profiled the real-life Huntr/x singers for the Los Angeles Times. (If you love KPOP Demon Hunters, go ahead and tap into that full piece, it’s tremendous.) It’s really clear that these women want the best for each other. Their current goal? Getting EJAE that Oscar, and she’s got a pretty good shot at it!
“We were all individually our own person. They had their music career, and I have my career as a songwriter,” EJAE offered. “[Becoming a K-pop group] later is unheard of with K-pop training. You do it when they’re kids, before anything [can develop], so they can shape them together, whereas we’re our own individuals coming together. Having this synergy is incredibly rare.”
It’s a true team effort with Huntr/x, both inside the world of the film and out here in the real world. EJAE is a steadying presence as a songwriter. And, her two co-stars bring their own flavor to make these performances really sing. In Another World helps bring fans into the mind of one of our brightest stars of this year.
Hopefully, this is just the first of many successes for EJAE. Her hard work for more than a decade led her to this point. It’s not hyperbole to say that she’s only in this position because of that hustle and the fans who supported her. That’s a note we can all vibe to
