KPMG is scaling back its office space in Manchester as it continues its shift towards more flexible working.
The professional services giant has confirmed that it will not renew the lease on 12,000 sq ft at Bruntwood's Manchester Technology Centre.
It instead has relocated its 100-strong team to its city centre offices in St Peter's Square.
A KPMG spokesperson said: "As a major employer in Manchester we remain committed to our presence in the city.
"Our planned adoption of hybrid working does slightly change our office requirements and we do not plan to renew the lease on 12,000 sq ft in Manchester Technology Centre.
"We have relocated our 100 Technology colleagues into our primary Manchester city centre office, 1 St Peter’s Square."
The move comes after KPMG originally launched the hub in September 2019.
According to a press release issued at the time, the space had the capacity to house more than 180 staff and was been designed around collaboration and development, with access to the local technology and university communities.
Speaking then, Nicola Quayle, office senior partner at KPMG in Manchester, said: "Manchester is already home to one of our largest offices in the country and we’re committed to investing in the city.
"The decision to move to Circle Square also recognises Manchester’s status as a growing centre for the international tech economy.
"Quite simply, our Solutions & Digital practice needs great connections, access to incredible talent and to be plugged into a vibrant tech community.
"Manchester, and in particular Circle Square, offers all of this in abundance."
