Reports that Frank Lampard is considering a move to re-sign Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake has got Chelsea fans talking.
The Blues are once again allowed to make signings after their two-transfer window ban was reduced upon appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Friday.
And the rumours are heating up ahead of the January transfer window.
The Telegraph claim Lampard will assess the fitness of Antonio Rudiger before deciding to make an attempt to bring Ake back to Stamford Bridge - less than three years after selling him to the Cherries for £20m.
In addition, the report states that the Blues believe they can sign the Dutchman for less than his reported £70m market value.
This is down to a buy-back clause.
It is believed that the Blues can re-sign Ake for £40million if they wish to lure him back to west London.
In regards to Rudiger, Lampard said ahead of the Everton game that the defender - who has made just one senior appearance this season - is closing in on a return to action.
"Rudiger had a really good week of training," Lampard told reporters.
"We had to get him match fitness type of training, which he has gone through this week.
"Tomorrow [Everton game] will come too soon, but he has had a great week and is on the verge."
Poor defending cost the Blues against the Toffees at the weekend and links to Ake - who limped off after 35 minutes against Liverpool has garnered quite the reaction on social media.
