Kostas Tsimikas 'wanted' by Rangers as Ibrox club 'declare interest' ahead of transfer window

Rangers have declared an interested in Olympiacos left back Kostas Tsimikas - according to a report.

The Greece international has impressed for the Super League big-hitters this season and it's claimed Rangers are one of seven clubs who want to sign him.

Greek outlet Page News claim the Ibrox side have already been in contact with Tsimikas' club and are now pondering a move in the January window.

But they'll face stiff competition with the likes of Werder Bremen, Nice, Fiorentina, and Fenerbahce all believed to be keen on his services.

Galatasaray and Rennes are also believed to be interested in the 23-year-old after his rapid rise in becoming one of his club's most important players.

If Rangers were to sign him it could spell the end of Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday's Ibrox careers.

Both players have watched from the sidelines as Borna Barisic has cemented his place in Steven Gerrard's side as first choice left-back.

The duo are out of contract in the summer and Tsimikas could provide added competition for the Croatian international.

Tsimikas has three caps for his country after making his debut against Hungary in 2018.

He also had spells on loan at Esbjerg in Denmark and Willem II in the Netherlands.
