CHON BURI: Immigration Police on Tuesday arrested four Korean men and charged them with running online gambling services from a condo room in Pattaya.

Kim Kangseon, 41, Park Haekeun, 35, Kim Youngsun, 38, and Suk Jongho, 39, were arrested at Room A424 on the fourth floor of The Grass Condominium on South Pattaya Road in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district.

Police seized their three computers, a router, two one-time password devices and six memory units the men allegedly confessed to have used to run their gambling site.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate Hakparn, the immigration police chief, quoted the suspects as saying that they arrived as tourists, and rented the room for a month specifically to offer online gambling services for Koreans on the internet.

They were hired by a financier for 80,000 baht a month. The men claimed they processed bets worth about 2.5 million baht before police showed up at their door.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate said the owner of the room would be prosecuted for failing to notify authorities of the foreigners in his accommodation.
