Korean-inspired burger is restaurant chain's contribution to K-boom craze

K-Boom is set to hit the UK with a bang this Autumn with the nation enjoying a wave of cultural, musical and theatrical events alongside an exciting Korean food takeover. Byron Burger is getting in on the act with its most exciting new menu addition to date – The Korean Gochubang Burger.

Consisting of a sweet chili and gochujang coated, buttermilk fried chicken breast, topped with homemade Byron slaw, drizzled with a Korean style hot sauce mayo and finished with sweet pickles, it is all encased in a soft bun. And, much like the Korean banchan (side dishes, typically fermented or pickled, meant to enhance the flavour of the main dish), it is served with a pot of spicy marinated cucumbers on the side.

The treat can be washed down with Byron’s new Korean Beer - a new light and citrusy Yokai beer. Taking inspiration from sake, this beer blends Yuzu citrus flavours with umami from seaweed and gentle spices from Sichuan peppercorns, designed to take the bang out of the fiery Gochubang burger.

Byron is also encouraging its customers to forget about airs and graces when eating their newest burger. The juicy, saucy, all round messy burger should just be enjoyed as intended.

There are plenty of special, custom made K-Town wet wipes on hand to mop up the sauce from fingers and face.
