To celebrate South Korea's National Foundation Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is holding a ceremony at Bangkok City Hall on Sunday evening which will be livestreamed through the Korean Cultural Centre's Facebook page.

The event will start with Korean food distribution to the underprivileged by Ambassador Lee Wook-heon, national taekwondo coach Choi Young-seok, national para-taekwondo coach Shin Young-kyun and Tokyo Paralympic medallist Kwansuda Puangkijja at 6.30pm.

The main event will feature Korean and Thai cultural shows. Expect to see Krida Phiniharn, a Thai traditional dance for blessing presented by Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, and Samulnori, a performance of Korean traditional percussion music played on four instruments by students of the Korean International School.

Then, the Taekwondo Association of Thailand will present a demonstration conducted by the Thailand Taekwondo Poomsae national team.

Another highlight will be a media show that will be projected against the facade of Bangkok City Hall. The lighting display will illustrate a tiger and a bear, both of which are the national animals of Korea, as well as an elephant, Thailand's national animal.

The show will portray how Thailand and South Korea have fought against Covid-19 and overcome it together, expressing good co-operation and friendship between the two countries.
