NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A worker was seriously injured by a fire that broke out inside a factory in Sikhiu district late on Saturday night, police said.
Pol Maj Kittipot Chamnanthe, a Sikhiu police duty officer, said the fire broke out at about 11.30pm inside a D Metal Sheet Company factory producing metal roofing sheets and insulators at kilometre marker No 9 on Sikhiu - Dan Khunthot road in tambon Kut Noi.
About 30 fire engines and 50 firefighters from several municipalities and tambon administration organisations (TAO) nearby were rushed to the factory, which was engulfed in flames.
Workers said the fire started in a control room for the production of insulators. They tried to stop the fire from spreading but were not successful.
A male worker was seriously injured. He was admitted to Sikhiu Hospital.
The fire was still raging as of early Sunday. The damage had yet to be assessed.
The same factory was hit by a fire on Jan 16, causing about 150 million baht damage.
