Konstantinos Tsimikas could be soon moving to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp had been keen on Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis but Olympiacos defender Tsimikas, who would be considerably cheaper, is seen as better value by Michael Edwards and his recruitment team.
So, who is the Reds' potential new signing Konstantinos Tsimikas and what do we know about him?
Tsimikas is a 24-year-old left-back who currently plies his trade for Greek outfit Olympiacos.
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1996 the full-back began his football career with Panserraikos.
In 2015 the defender joined Olympiacos.
He has been loaned out on two occasions with his first temporary departure coming in 2017 as the Greek international joined Danish side Esbjerg fB.
Another loan move followed as Tsimikas was sent to gain experience at Willem II in the Netherlands.
Kostas, as he's commonly referred to, has won three Super League titles and one Greek Cup.
Last season Tsimikas featured 46 times in total for Olympiacos and notched seven assists.
The Grecian featured in all six Champions League group games as his side were knocked out of the competition.
After dropping into the Europa League, Tsimikas played the full match as Olympiacos defeated Arsenal.
Tsimikas, who has earned three caps for Greece, also starred against Wolves as his team were eliminated by the Premier League outfit last week.
Kostas' brother Stergios is also a professional footballer.
The 26-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder for Panserraikos.
