Arsenal have confirmed that Konstantinos Mavropanos will be spending the 2020/21 season on loan with newly promoted club Stuttgart.
The centre-back has also signed a new contract with the Gunners, following his impressive spell at Nuremberg this year where he was a vital part of them staying in the Bundesliga 2.
Mavropanos has since said his first words since the move was confirmed.
"Switching to VfB is a new challenge in my career," he told Stuttgart's official website.
"I thank the management and the trainer for the trust they have placed in me. My goal is to return this trust with good performances and to do my part for a successful VfB season."
Key in making the move happen was Arsenal's former head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, who was key to bringing Mavropanos to the Emirates back in January 2018.
Appointed Stuttgart's sporting director last year, he has also spoken about what brought the move about.
“We are very happy that we were able to sign Konstantinos Mavropanos for one season from Arsenal," he told the club's official website.
"We've known each other since our time together at Arsenal, so I've been watching his development for a correspondingly long time.
"Konstantinos is strong in tackling, quick to start and suits us very well with his skills and ambition."
