Konrad Hurrell set to receive crucial injury news as Luke Gale setback confirmed

Leeds Rhinos will learn the extent of Konrad Hurrell's injury today as the centre undergoes a scan on a foot injury.

The centre played hurt during the club's victory over Leigh Centurions before eventually limping off midway through the second-half, having sustained the injury at half-time.

Coach Richard Agar was eventually forced to withdraw the Tonga international despite his adamancy to stay on the field, with the Rhinos now expecting to receive news on the severity of his injury today.

Agar will be keeping his fingers crossed for Hurrell, with the Rhinos already without centres Liam Sutcliffe and Jack Broadbent to long-term injuries.

Hurrell was replaced at centre by Tom Briscoe during the game at LSV, with brother Luke moving to the wing.

Meanwhile, the club has suffered yet another injury blow with Luke Gale out for a minimum of six weeks with a medial ligament strain. Gale also limped off on Friday night and was helped down the touchline after a tackle left him on the floor.

Scans have determined that Gale has suffered a grade three strain, which will now keep him out for potentially the rest of the season. The former captain should be fit to return for the play-offs should the Rhinos make the top six.

Leeds have already lost Mikolaj Oledzki, Liam Sutcliffe and Alex Mellor to season-long injuries while Jack Walker looks set to miss the entire campaign too.
