Komazawa University won the overall Tokyo-Hakone Intercollegiate Ekiden title for the first time in 13 years and seventh time overall on Sunday.

The university finished the two-day, 10-section race over 217.1 kilometers in 10 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds.

Komazawa finished third on the first day of the relay, however, junior Takuma Ishikawa overtook the Soka University anchor about 2 kilometers before the finish line for a come-from-behind victory.

Soka, which had the lead after the first day of the race, finished in second place, and Toyo University was third.

Aoyama University, a five-time winner seeking a second consecutive title, finished fourth, rallying back from 12th place on the opening day.
