KOLKATA: The state chief secretary, H K Dwivedi, on Tuesday held a meeting with officials of the power department along with KMC, CESC and WBSEDCL in the state secretariat on ways to prevent hooking and electrocution.
Officials of all the agencies have been asked to be vigilant and ensure there are no loose live wires dangling from any installations, particularly in public places like pavements and streets that can cause shocks or electrocution.
Dwivedi also asked cops to keep a check on hooking, as power officials have complained of rampant hooking in different places. He asked to regularly inspect lamp posts to see if they were functional or not. He also advised to fix metre boxes at a certain height so children don’t touch them.
