KOLKATA: Jadavpur University held a meeting with all stakeholders on Friday to discuss security on campus after teachers and scholars complained against drinking, scuffles and harassment of women with outsiders entering the premises in the evening.
JUTA general secretary Partha Pratim Ray said one of their proposals was to hand over outsiders, found drunk or in possession of alcohol, to police. There were also complaints about non-employees living in the staff quarters. Pro-VC Chiranjib Bhattacharya said, "No decision was made. Students' unions have sought a few days so that they can come up with a proposal through general body meetings."
