Kolkata: Man found murdered after picnic in Bagmari

KOLKATA: A mini-truck transporter (28) was found murdered near Judge Bagan close to Bagmari Market around 6.30pm on Sunday. The body was found a few hundred metres from his home, hours after he had gone with some friends to a picnic.

The man, Dipak Prasad, was allegedly attacked with a sharp object, and excessive blood loss contributed to his death, said police sources. Locals rushed Prasad to RG Kar Hospital where he was declared dead.

Maniktala police has detained Prasad’s five friends for questioning. Another friend, however, is on the run. No one has been arrested till Monday evening.
