Kolkata: Caregivers held for cash, jewellery theft

KOLKATA: In two separate incidents, one in Salt Lake and the other at Regent Park, caregivers, who had been working for years, allegedly fled with ornaments and cash from their employers.

An FIR has been lodged at Bidhannagar South police station by a resident of Salt Lake’s GD block after her jewellery went missing from home. Her maid Ranu Singha Roy was arrested for the theft.

The second incident was reported from Regent Park where the caregiver stole ornaments, cash worth Rs 2 lakh. The accused, Sushama Patra, was arrested from Basanti. Cops recovered Rs 1.5 lakh from her. TNN
