Kolkata: Attempt-to-murder charge on attacker

KOLKATA: A Hatibagan Road resident, Md Shahid (24), was attacked with a chopper near Paddapukur petrol pump around 1am on Saturday.

The victim, Shahid, received injuries on his head, face and shoulder. joint CP (crime) Murlidhar Sharma said Shahid had gone to a place near Bishulhat, when he was attacked. Personal enmity could be the motive.

“The victim has been admitted to CNMC. The main accused, Md Zahid alias Golden (40), a resident of Suren Sarkar Road, has been arrested and charged with attempt to murder,” police said.
