Kodaline gig at Malahide Castle: Stage times, setlist, support acts, security, tickets and weather

Irish indie pop band Kodaline are set to play a summer concert at Dublin’s Malahide Castle on June 17th.

Kodaline are an Indie folk and rock band originally from Swords, Dublin, where members Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast and Vinny May grew up.

Originally known as 21 Demands, the band changed their name to Kodaline before the release of their debut album In A Perfect World in 2013.

When are Kodaline playing in Malahide Castle?

Kodaline play Malahide Castle on Friday, June 17 with gates opening at 4pm.

What are the stage times?

Stage times haven’t been announced yet.

How do I get there?

Plan and book your return travel arrangements in advance allowing at least an extra 1.5hrs travel time to/from the venue.

Dart: The train runs frequently daily and the station is a 15 minute walk from the venue. Train schedules and bookings are available on Irish rail.

Bus: The 42 bus runs to Malahide. There will also be a direct bus service operated by Marathon coaches running every half-hour from 3pm to 6pm. and after the event from 10.30pm until 11.30pm. This will take passengers to Custom House Quay in the city centre.

Those attending are urged to pre-book the bus here.

Coaches: Parking for private coaches and minibuses is available onsite for those who have booked in advance.

Cars: For those driving, parking will be provided via Back Road. Booking is advised in advance for discounted prices.

Who is the support act?

Kodaline have announced special guests Tom Walker, Lucy Blue and True Tides for their open air concert.

Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker first broke through with the gritty 2017 hit "Leave a Light On," he scored a U.K. number one album in 2019 with his full-length debut, the gold-selling What a Time to Be Alive.

Lucy Blue is a 19-year-old singer, songwriter and producer from Dublin signed with Sony Music UK.

Her wide-ranging influences cover the likes of Frank Ocean, PJ Harvey and iconic skate bible Thrasher Magazine.

Cork brother’s band True Tides are Cian, Conor and Eoghan MacSweeny.

The 3 Irish brothers have been playing music together their whole lives, developing an energetic sound with a sharp-edged pop dynamic driven by guitars and electronics with layered vocal harmonies at its core.

What will the weather be like?

Met Eireann forecast dry, warm and sunny to start across Leinster and Munster on Friday.

Highest temperatures by early afternoon and Leinster of 20 to 24, or possibly 25 degrees.

Security and safety

Due to increased traffic and security measures people are advised to be at the venue in sufficient time as there is no queuing prior to gates opening allowed.

No queuing prior to gates opening is permitted, those attending are advised to print or download their tickets before arriving at the venue.

Event organisers have advised searches will be in place to ensure the safety of concert goers.

There is also a strict no alcohol policy on transport to and from the venue.

No backpacks or large handbags are allowed. A full list of prohibited items is available on the MCD website.
