KOCHI: A reading room for children in the age group of 6 to 12 years will start functioning at Panampilly Nagar from the first week of April.
The facility, which can be availed free of cost, is an initiative of the Inner Wheel Club of Cochin. The reading room is set up on the ground floor of the Bal Bhavan of Rotary Club. Office-bearers of the club said that it would be a bright and airy place for children to enjoy reading.
The building, which houses the reading room, had earlier housed a medical clinic. It was renovated for the purpose of setting up the reading room. They said that the facility would act as a natural extension to the adjacent children’s park, which was renovated by the club as part of its golden jubilee celebrations in 2020.
It is expected that the reading room would attract a large number of children during the summer vacation.
