Exhibition of items made of waste gets good response: Kochi Metro

KOCHI: Kochi Metro stations are becoming platforms for small-scale businessmen as well as artists for showcasing their items.

As part of the move by the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) to attract more people to Metro stations, an exhibition-cum-sale of products made out of waste materials was held at Edappally Metro station on Saturday.

Out of the 50 participants registered for the programme, around 30 participated. A variety of products and crafts such as home decors, bottle arts, handbags, Tshirts, mats and rugs were exhibited by the participants.

The decorative frames created with e-waste was the centre of attraction. “The participants were very much excited about the exposure and response they got from the Metro commuters,” said an official with the KMRL.
