KOCHI: Ernakulam Rural police arrested five persons on Saturday in connection with an alleged robbery at Chottanikkara. The accused had robbed a 55-year-old man at knife point on Monday.
The arrested persons are Adarsh Chandrasekharan, 25, his wife Kashmeera, 22, both hailing from Amballur, Lebeeb, 22, of Mulanthuruthy, Fredin, 26, of Mooriamangalam and Vishwas, 42, of Kanayannur.
The accused who reached the victim’s house on Monday night made him enter the house at knife point and locked it from inside. They then robbed him of Rs 2 lakh, a gold ring, and a mobile phone before escaping.
The probe team was led by district police chief (Ernakulam Rural) K Karthick, Puthencruz DSP Ajaynath and inspector K P Jayaprasad. The accused were presented in court and were remanded in judicial custody. tnn
