KOCHI: Fresh Covid cases being reported from the district continue to show a steady increase. A total of 2,394 fresh Covid-19 cases had been detected from various parts of the district on Thursday. Of these, 2,381 persons contracted the disease through local contact while sources of infection in six patients are not known.
Five persons who came to the state from other states or abroad also tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on the day. There are two healthcare workers also among those diagnosed with the disease in the district on Thursday.
As many as 921 patients who had been under treatment for Covid-19 in different parts of the district recovered on the day. While 2,530 persons have been put under observation, 646 persons who completed the quarantine period were exempted from observation. The total number of persons who are under home quarantine in the district is 17,347.
