KOCHI: A 14-year-old boy has gone missing off Valappu beach where he reached along with his friend for bathing on Saturday evening. Coastal police and marine enforcement started search operation in the sea.
The missing boy has been identified as Sreyas, son of Shyjan Thuruthummel, of Valappu. He is a Class X student of Santa Cruz Higher secondary School, Puthuvype.
4 held for assault, robbery
Kochi: Kalady police on Saturday arrested four persons in connection with assaulting a hotel owner and robbing his money and gold ornaments on May 17. The arrested are Joby, 48, and Sanu, 34, of Thuravoor, Kishore, 40, of Mattoor and Siju, 26, of Idukki.
According to police, the accused assaulted the victim when he was on his way to his hotel. They robbed him after throwing chili powder on his face. A special investigation team was formed to nab the accused. Police recovered the ornaments from a financial firm at Manjapra. Police said Kishore is a history-sheeter and he faces as many as 20 cases registered for various offences at different police station limits.
