Knowsley's 2019 general election candidates announced

Knowsley will go to the polls on December 12 with incumbent Sir George Howarth looking to secure a 10th election victory.

With a hefty majority - Labour's second highest in the country - his challengers from across a range of parties will have a tough job unseating him.

He faces challengers from five parties, including the Brexit Party's Tim McCullough, who had planned to stand in Pendle before Nigel Farage announced his party would not run candidates in seats held by the Conservatives.

With all the nominations now in, the following people are confirmed as candidates for December's General Election:

Ray Catesby - Liberal Party

Sir George Howarth - Labour

Tim McCullough - Brexit Party

Rushi Millns - Conservative

Joe Slupsky - Liberal Democrat

Paul Woodruff - Green

The polls will open at 7am on December 12 and close at 10pm, with the result expected to be announced that night.
