A prediction: it’s some time in 2016. Your phone rings. Silence, followed by a robotic recorded voice. “Have you or any member of your family ever owned a VW vehicle? If so you could be in line for a large payment. Press 1 to hear, etc, etc.” (Letters, 25 September). Repeat ad nauseam.

• Could Sadiq Khan please add free water fountains in London to his first-term to-do list (Report, September 25)? I seem to remember Ken Livingstone promising to do the same and delivering precisely nothing.
