Knives and chisels found in weapons blitz as police crack down on violent crime

Knives and chisels were recovered by officers targeting serious and violent crime on Merseyside.

All the weapons were found during high vis patrols around the L8 area yesterday (Wednesday, February 10).

The two knives were recovered near Smithdown Lane at around 10am and the two chisels were recovered on Warwick Street at around 2.30pm.

No arrests were made.

The chisels were found in an area that was used for flytipping and it is believed they had been dumped there.

Operation Target is a major initiative aimed at those involved in serious and violent crime on Merseyside.

It has resulted in scores of raids across the city targeting individuals using firearms and knives. It has also led to the recovery of drugs and cash across Merseyside.
