Officers pulled numerous weapons - including a whip - from grids during a search of an area of Liverpool.
On Thursday (August 18) morning, community officers and Liverpool Streetscene searched grids around Thirlmere Road, Everton, for weapons. The search uncovered a wide variety of "dangerous items".
Merseyside Police North Liverpool tweeted: "This morning Anfield Community Officers have been working with our friends at Liverpool Streetscene searching grids around Thirlmere Road for weapons. We located a number of dangerous items which will now be disposed of. If anyone's lost a whip, get in touch..."

The collection of weapons included a utility knife, kitchen knives, tools and the aforementioned whip. Merseyside Police has been contacted for comment regarding the reason for the search.
