Knightswood incident: man in critical condition after being found injured within close

A man is in critical condition in hospital after being found injured within a close in Knightswood.

The 43-year-old was discovered at a block of flats on Kirkton Avenue this morning around 3am this morning.

Following the arrival of police and emergency services, the man was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is currently being treated for a serious leg injury and where staff describe his condition as critical.

Police confirm that a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "“Around 3 am on Monday, 5 April, 2021 a 43-year-old man was found injured within a close in Kirkton Avenue, Glasgow. He was taken to the QEUH where he is currently being treated for a serious leg injury.

"Hospital staff describe his condition as critical.

"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
