Knights match relocated in fresh Queensland stadium shuffle

THE Knights' clash with Cronulla is on the move, the NRL has confirmed.

Unfortunately, it's not getting much closer to Newcastle fans as lockdown for most NSW residents continues to keep the NRL north of the border.

Rugby league's leadership announced on Tuesday that games will shift in a bid to ease the burden on Suncorp Stadium and Cbus Super Stadium, which became the home of rugby league after a Queensland outbreak forced matches including the Knights-Raiders clash to shift.

Sunday's Knights clash, which could be crucial in their race for the finals, will be played at Moreton Daily Stadium at Redcliffe as part of a double header.

The Warriors will take on Canterbury before the Newcastle match.

The Broncos and Roosters will stay at Suncorp on Friday night along with St George and Penrith's Friday clash.

South Sydney and Gold Coast will play at Cbus Super Stadium before the Cowboys and Tigers play in Townsville.

The Eels and Sea Eagles will play at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

Queensland's snap lockdown ended at 4pm on Sunday, allowing fans in the sunshine state back into the grandstand.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming fans back to our games in Round 22," NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.

"I'm particularly excited to see Redcliffe hosting a double header on Sunday and the Sunshine Coast having the opportunity to host two games across the round. These are excellent outcomes for fans in both regions."
