Listed UK legal and professional services firm Knights has acquired commercial litigation specialist ERT Law for £1.8 million.
The acquisition of ERT, which is based in Birmingham and has a turnover of £2 million, builds on Knights' recently established presence in the city following its £4.7 million deal last November to buy law firm Emms Gilmore Liberson.
ERT Law has 24 fee earners and counts blue-chip and FTSE-listed companies among its client roster.
Following completion, the total number of fee earners across Knights Group's nine UK offices will be 633.
Chief executive of Knights David Beech said: "This is an exciting addition to our recently acquired operations in Birmingham which is in line with our strategy to grow our share of key geographic markets outside London.
"Following the acquisition of EGL in November, this update is testament to the momentum that Knights has built since its initial public offering in 2018 and its ability to attract high calibre businesses to the group."
ERT Law director Neil Eaton added: "We are proud of the reputation we have built in Birmingham and look forward to building upon this as part of Knights which is well suited to supporting our ambitious plans as part of a growing full-service firm in Birmingham."
