The Newcastle Knights are two from two after beating the Warriors 20-16 in Gosford on Friday night in a thrilling fightback.
Down 16-14 with five minutes to play, Bradman Best was the hero for Newcastle when he set up winger Hymel Hunt for his second try of the night.
Newcastle weathered some early pressure before opening the scoring in the 18th minute, when co-captain Jayden Brailey scooted out of dummy-half and wrestled off three defenders to ground the ball over the line.
Back-rower Mitch Barnett converted for a 6-0 lead.
The Warriors appeared to have equalised in the 31st minute, only for the video referee to rule that hooker Wayde Edan lost possession in lunging for the line.
They received a penalty, however, and scored soon afterwards when Newcastle's left-side defence left Ben Murdoch-Masila with a yawning gap.
Kodi Nikorima's conversion locked the scores up, but then a Barnett penalty goal, after Best was kneed by Jazz Tevaga in a tackle, put Newcastle in front.
Tevaga was placed on report.
Hunt's try in the 48th minute lifted Newcastle to an eight-point lead, but the Warriors responded with tries by Adam Pompey and Ken Maumalo to kick clear.
Nathan Brown's new team looked set to upset his former club before Best broke tackles and unloaded to Hunt.
The Knights then defended desperately to clinch their second straight victory, after thrashing Canterbury 32-16 in round one.
