A man from Bolton rescued a holidaying couple after they got lost in thick fog high up the hills of the Lake District.
The heroic fell runner spotted the duo on Blea Rigg, near Ambleside, and navigated them safely back to Grasmere, avoiding a potentially dangerous situation.
Now, he has been hailed as a hero online after the hotel where the lost couple were staying put out an appeal on Facebook to try and find 'Tom from Bolton'.

And, their efforts have ended in success, with hotel staff managing to track Tom down.
Colin Menzies, who works at the Moss Grove Organic Hotel where the couple were staying, said his colleague Kylie Hill had reached out to the heroic runner.
"The couple didn't have a clue where they were and he guided them back to us safely," Colin explained.
"Basically, he's a fell runner and he was up there running and these two guests had ended up totally lost.
"It was very misty at the time but he went out of his way to help and put them on the right track."
In their appeal to find Tom, hotel staff posted on Facebook: "Tom helped to safely navigate some of our guests from the higher fells back to Grasmere.
"Unfortunately the guests had become lost whilst out walking and as the day got darker and the cloud became low they were unsure which path to take.
"Luckily a fell runner which we have no other information than Tom who was on a day trip led them back to the correct path."
After tracking Tom down and hailing him as a 'knight in shining armour' staff at the hotel have now offered him a complimentary nights stay whenever he likes.
