Knifeman holds up Scots newsagent before fleeing with vodka, cash and scratch cards

A manhunt has been launched after a knifeman held up a Scots newsagent before fleeing with booze, cash and scratchcards.

The early morning raid happened at 6.45am yesterday at Court Street News, Court Street, Dundee.

A man went into the shop and held a blade towards the shopkeeper.

He made off with cash, a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and a number of scratch cards.

The shopkeeper was uninjured but left 'shaken' by the incident.

Police have now released a description to try and find the suspect.

He is described as late 20's in age, approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall, average build with short dark hair and he spoke with a local accent.

He was believed to be wearing a black jacket, blue jogging bottoms, black gloves, a black scarf with a white checked pattern through it and carrying a white carrier bag.

A police statement added: "If you have any information that could assist us, particularly if you recognise the description of the male or if you have been offered for sale any of the stolen items please call 101 and quote crime reference number CR/4335/21. If you live in the local area and have private CCTV or dash-cam footage which may assist with the enquiry please get in touch. Information can also be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
