Staff at a south Dublin store were lucky to be alive after the shop was ransacked by a pair of thugs armed with knives.
A Garda manhunt is now underway to find the culprits involved in the robbery at the supermarket in Tallaght on Wednesday morning.
The duo entered the SuperValu in Fortunestown Shopping Centre shortly after 8am threatening staff with their weapons before fleeing on foot with a large sum of money and cigarettes.
Thankfully nobody was injured in the ordeal but the dangerous pair are still at large.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "At approximately 8am, it's reported two males entered a supermarket in Fortunestown, Tallaght, armed with knives.
"The men left the shop with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes after threatening staff."
He added: "No injuries were reported and there was no damage to any property.
"The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. No arrests have been made to date and investigations are ongoing."
