Gardai are hunting a pair of knife-wielding thieves who reportedly ripped a cash register from its moorings at a north Dublin shop over the weekend.
The two armed robbers stormed the Gala store on Millmount Avenue in Drumcondra shortly before 4pm on Saturday.
The thugs threatened a staff member according to gardai before allegedly ripping out the register and making off with a sum of cash.
Luckily no one was physically injured during the frightening stick up although the staff member is understood to have been extremely shaken by the ordeal.
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are continuing to investigate the incident but no arrests have yet been made.
He said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred at a retail premises on the 22 May 2021."
He continued: "Two men entered the premises and threatened members of staff. A sum of cash was stolen. No injuries have been reported at this time.
"No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing."
