Knife-wielding masked robbers threaten staff and steal cash from Cramlington shop

Masked men armed with knives forced shop staff to empty two tills in a terrifying robbery.

Shortly before 9.55pm on Tuesday, September 24, two men wearing masks entered the Spar on West View in Dudley, Cramlington.

The robbers threatened the staff with knives and demanded they hand over the contents of the tills.

They then fled with cash from two tills as well as a stash of cigarettes.

Staff in the store were not injured but were left very shaken, according to Northumbria Police.

Officers were sent to the area at the time but nobody has been arrested and inquiries are ongoing to trace those involved.

Now police have asked anyone who witnessed the men fleeing the area, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, to get in touch.

The men are described as both wearing dark clothing and were wearing white masks.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 1102 24/09/19, report on the Northumbria Police website or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
