Knife seized after police spot two men 'acting suspiciously'

A knife has been seized after police spotted two men 'acting suspiciously' in Bolton.

The suspects were spotted by officers on patrol in the Breightmet area.

Both were searched by police and one was found to be carrying a knife.

He was arrested for possession of a bladed article and possession of class B drugs and taken to custody.

A picture of the knife was posted on the GMP Bolton North Facebook page in the early hours of this morning.

The blade - with a serrated edge - measured around seven inches long.

Alongside the picture, an officer wrote: "Whilst on mobile patrol in the Breightmet area, officers were drawn to 2 males acting suspiciously.

"Both were searched, 1 was sent on his way, 1 was given a lift to custody for the night, arrested for possession of a bladed article and class B."
