Joakim Noah's disappointing first season as a Knick likely is over.
Noah underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday to remove a loose body in his left knee, the team announced. The veteran center has been battling other injuries throughout the season, including a hamstring issue that has sidelined him the past six games.
The Knicks said Noah will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks. But considering there are only 6 { weeks left in the season and the Knicks are a longshot to make the playoffs, Noah's year could be done.
The Knicks signed Noah to a four-year, $72 million contract over the summer, believing he could anchor their defense. But Noah, a former Defensive Player of the Year, never lived up to expectations.
He is averaging 5.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in 46 games this season.
The Vertical first reported that Noah would undergo surgery.
