Kmart Belconnen has announced that it will no longer be trading 24 hours a day as of next week. From Monday, they will instead be open from 8am to 11pm every day.
The store will close at midnight on Sunday, ready for the new hours on Monday.
It's a blow to fans of the department store and its affordable decor items.
It's no news that Kmart homewares have become a cultural phenomenon. That its cheap and often very attractive range gives a lot of people quick access to affordable style.
But the loss of 24-hour trading is also a blow to those who work shiftwork, with some venting their grievances on social media.
