Klutch Sports announces signing of Blazers guard Gary Trent Jr.

Klutch Sports has been busy adding to their roster while the NBA season reaches it’s last few weeks, with the NBA Finals head into it’s last few games. On Monday, Klutch announced the signing of a player from one of the playoff opponents of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers wing Gary Trent Jr. Trent had an amazing season

Trent had a breakout season with the Blazers and he was even better for Portland during the NBA restart. Trent averaged 8 points per game and shot nearly 42 percent from the 3-point line on the season. During the eight seeding games that helped the Blazers get into the playoffs, Trent averaged nearly 17 points per game and shot 50% from the 3-point line while often taking the toughest defensive assignment on the perimeter.

Another reason Klutch was interested, other than his great play, of course, is that Trent is eligible to negotiate a contract extension this offseason with Portland that could give him a much higher paycheck in the future than the 1.6 million he is due to make next season. Trent joins Suns guard Jalen Lecque, Raptors forward OG Anunoby, and Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball as notable offseason signings for Klutch.
