Kliff Kingsbury is ‘big into getting things done’

The Arizona Cardinals finally had their first meeting with new coach Kliff Kingsbury on Monday, as the team’s offseason program finally began. Early impressions of the rookie NFL coach revealed something about him to his players.

He wants to get to the point.

“When you listen to him, he’s big into getting things done,” safety Budda Baker said when he spoke to reporters on Tuesday.

Running back David Johnson noted this as well.

“He’s straight to the point,” he said on Tuesday. “He doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He lets you know exactly what he wants. He’s not going to have a big spiel about it. His big thing is to come ready on time and come with a lot of energy.”

Most coaches are big on results and getting things done. Steve Wilks, who was fired after only one season, was huge on details.

It would appear, at least from initial comments, Kingsbury is not a rah-rah guy. He is high energy but focused on getting things done.
