Kliff Kingsbury content with Kyler Murray speculation

The Arizona Cardinals have the first pick in the 2019 draft and a new head coach who already declared months ago that he would draft Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the first overall pick.

Now, when Kliff Kingsbury made those comments, he was still coaching at Texas Tech, but the declaration won’t go away, and Kingsbury doesn’t really mind.

“I think it comes with the territory,” he said about having the first pick in the draft when he appeared on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

He knows it makes things exciting for fans and gives the media topics to discuss. Ultimately, he believes it is good for the team’s brand.

He made it clear he is not going to exclude anyone from the draft evaluation process.

“I think anytime you have the first pick, you are going to look at all the top guys,” he said. “You’re going to evaluate everyone, see who can help your franchise, your organization the most right now. So we’ll evaluate them all and go from there.”

Kingsbury has publicly come out and said that Rosen is his guy but he also didn’t exactly put to rest any of the talk of Murray.

“I kind of said how I feel about him in October, so we’ll just leave it at that and people can make their assumptions.” He said that on the Kingsbury Chronicle podcast recently.

He’s just going to have fun with this for the next two months.
