Kliff Kingsbury clears COVID protocols, will coach vs. Texans

When the Arizona Cardinals will take on the Houston Texans Sunday afternoon at 1:25 p.m. local time at State Farm Stadium, they will have head coach Kliff Kingsbury back on the sideline.

He has been cleared from protocols and may be back with the team, as announced by Mark Dalton, the team’s VP for media relations, on Twitter. Sunday morning.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kingsbury finally got a negative test for COVID-19 on Saturday. He does not have symptoms. He needed a second negative test Sunday to be cleared.

Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said Friday that the Cardinals were prepared for the game either way.

Kingsbury will resume his duties as head coach and offensive playcaller.

Quarterbacks coach Cam Turner, who also missed the game last week after testing positive, was cleared earlier in the week and was at practice.

The Cardinals still have three players — linebacker Chandler Jones and defensive linemen Zach Allen and Corey Peters — on the COVID list right now. They will not play against the Texans.
