Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Monday, November 30.
Klich details conversation that helped shape Leeds career
Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich made an inauspicious start to life at Elland Road, but he has become a stalwart of the side under Marcelo Bielsa.
The Poland international struggled for opportunities under Thomas Christiansen after signing from FC Twente in the summer of 2017.
Having made just four appearances in the Championship, he was sent out on loan back to the Netherlands - FC Utrecht - for the second half of his first year with Leeds.
But he always believed he’d be back in the fold before long, telling managing director Angus Kinnear that he hoped to return after being sent out to the Eredivisie outfit.
"I went on loan to Holland but I told Angus that I had unfinished business at Leeds and I know I can play here,” Klich told talkSPORT.
"I was training here, I was close to the team and I knew I could do it but I just didn't have the chance to prove it. I went on loan, I did everything I could to be back and then Marcelo Bielsa came and he transformed me. The rest is history."
Beckford gives assessment on ‘full throttle’ Leeds
Former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford has said Bielsa’s side will approach every opponent in the same attack-minded manner this season.
The 36-year-old, now a prominent pundit after retiring from football, raved about his old club, who moved up to 12th in the Premier League table after Saturday’s 1-0 win at another of his former sides, Everton.
"They're so exciting, they don't hold back," he said, being interviewed on talkSPORT. "It doesn't matter who the opponents are, whether it's the Premier League champions or a team that have just been promoted from the Championship.
"They set up exactly the same way and approach it in the exact same way as well. They're full throttle, 100 per cent energy, pace and overloading in certain areas.
"It's so exciting and there's just so much going on on the pitch that you can't help but want to watch them."
Wright sends Bamford message of encouragement
Patrick Bamford missed out on equalling Thierry Henry’s record of scoring in the first five away appearances of a Premier League season on Saturday.
But another former Arsenal legend praised his performance at Goodison Park.
Ian Wright has often spoken highly of Leeds under Bielsa, having followed their progress closely since Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah’s loan at Elland Road last season.
He commented on Bamford’s latest Instagram update with a simple message of encouragement: “Brilliant performance Pat.”
Wright knows Bamford personally from the time he spent coaching at MK Dons, where the striker spent a short spell on loan from Chelsea back during the 2012/13 season.
