Kleberson sends message to Manchester United players Fred and Andreas Pereira

Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson believes Fred will build on his recent improved displays under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Fred has started United's last five matches, four of which have been wins, with many supporters hopeful that the £52million signing is starting to settle at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer called Fred "the catalyst" for his part in United's win over Brighton before the international break and fellow countryman Kleberson — who played under Sir Alex Ferguson between 2003 and 2005 — believes both Fred and Andreas Pereira are beginning to thrive.

“Fred has got a lot of expectation on him now, as he’s shown his quality," Kleberson told MEN Sport, via BonusCodeBets.co.uk .

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hails Fred as the 'catalyst' in win over Brighton

"He’s started moving the ball well and shuts down space for the opposition in midfield.

"When he first started playing alongside Andreas Pereira they struggled, but now they’ve got used to the tempo of the Premier League, they are starting to show their qualities.

"He can continue to improve but everything can change in football, so he needs to stay confident and keep his position in the side. As his position will come down to the team getting the right results.”

Kleberson believes United will continue to improve as a collective too and backed Solskjaer's side to qualify for the Champions League.

They currently sit in seventh place and will face competition from current top four incumbents Leicester and Chelsea, as well as Arsenal and Jose Mourinho's Tottenham.

But Kleberson added: “With the squad they’ve got, United can definitely finish in the top four. It is important for them to get into the Champions League.

"With Ole, he is looking to get the squad ready with the right depth to compete for the Champions League for next season, but it is still vital for them to try and get there in this campaign.”
