Klay Thompson’s Rocco-guided ACL rehab appears to be going well

Well, we don’t know for sure from the photo posted by The Athletic‘s Anthony Slater that Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson’s rehab on his surgically-repaired left ACL is going well. But thanks to the presence of of his beloved bulldog, Rocco, one would expect that things are going as well as can be expected.

The image is a screenshot from an Instagram story that shows Thompson undergoing treatment on his left leg about two weeks after surgery.  Rocco is seated nearby in what appears to be a supervisory role.

The canine has made periodic media appearances with Thompson, including during road trips with the Warriors, but he has declined opportunities to give formal interviews.

The breadth of Rocco’s training in sports medicine is not yet known, but the superstar pup at least looks like he knows what he’s doing and Thompson does not appear to be afraid.

The three-time NBA champion is expected to miss the majority of the 2019-20 NBA season, with a return not guaranteed. He suffered the ACL tear during the Warriors’ Game 6 Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors.
