On Friday, seemingly out of leftfield, the world learned of the tragic and untimely death of iconic actor Chadwick Boseman.
At the age of 43, Boseman was perhaps most renowned for his starring role in Marvel superhero film “Black Panther,” however, Boseman emerged in the field after playing roles of other historical Black figures including Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall.
Silently, for the past four years, Boseman has been battling colon cancer. Incredibly, it was during this time that he did some of his finest work, including that of the aforementioned Black Panther.
On Friday night, after learning of the star’s passing, on Twitter, Klay Thompson, honored the memory of a star that many people look upon with newfound reverence for his perseverance.
“Rest in power @chadwickboseman !! Your legacy will live forever. 2020 man, been a tough one,” Thompson tweeted.

Boseman’s death was reported just prior to that of 18-year NBA veteran and former NBA All-Star Clifford Robinson, who spent two seasons with the Warriors. Robinson died on Saturday.
Earlier in this week, the basketball community — including many of his former players — mourned the death of former Arizona men’s head basketball coach Lute Olson. Olson, who helped Arizona become one of the top collegiate basketball programs in the country, died at 85 years old on Thursday.
At this point, 2021 can’t come fast enough.
