Klay Thompson Had Perfect Reaction to Harrison Barnes’s Crucial Missed Shot

The Warriors escaped Game 4 with a win despite some late drama during Sunday’s clash against the Kings

With the game on the line, De’Aaron Fox dished the ball to Harrison Barnes, who had a clean look at the basket from three-point range. Barnes’s shot hit off the back of the rim and bounced out, resulting in Golden State’s 126–125 victory.

After the game, Klay Thompson addressed Barnes’s attempted game-winner, expressing joy that his former teammate didn’t sink the three-pointer which would have given the Kings a 3–1 series lead.

“I was nervous,” Thompson said of his former teammate. “I’m really happy Harrison missed it. He’s still my guy but I was hoping he missed it really badly.”

Golden State drafted Barnes out of UNC with the No. 7 pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He played with the team until ’16.

He had a huge chance to get some sweet revenge on his former team on Sunday, getting a good look at the basket but ultimately missing the three-point shot narrowly, much to Thompson’s relief.

“Sometimes you need a break like that at this point in the year. It was just a gutsy win and a big, big defensive stop,” Thompson added.

Barnes struggled with his shot all night, converting on just three of 13 field goal attempts. He was one for six from three-point range, including the miss on the crucial final shot of the game.
